Letting go …

I have a love hate relationship with lavender. It is such an effective sleep aid for me as well as a fantastic first aid oil and creates a strong synergy in any pain reducing blend but I detest the scent. There are so many different varieties of lavender. I tend to stick to Lavandula angustifolia but even in that species there are so many varieties with unique constituent balances!

The main constituent in Lavandula is linalool. This is a very well-studied herb and constituent. It is sedating and an effective anti-inflammatory. This fragrant sleep enhancer is also an excellent first aid tool for minor burns and bug bites! Think the great Canadian outdoors! Better sleep, burn treatment and anti-itch all in one roller!!! Just remember that not all lavender varieties have high linalool content!

This little terpene alcohol has some powerful influence on the brain as well. If you are using cannabis products for reduction of muscle contraction (seizure control), anxiety, or stress, try adding lavender aromatically 20 minutes before you nibble, smoke or apply your cannabis product! Remember to cut your regular cannabis dosage since this will work in synergy with the cannabinoids!
